Leo Kan - Professional Summary: 

A teacher at Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts, Leo Kan directs the Eaglebrook School Chorus, which performs six times each school year. In other responsibilities with the school, Leo Kan fills an instructional role in the rehearsals and performances of the Ad Libs, a 14-member a cappella ensemble. The Ad Libs performs 12 times per year at school functions and sporting events on campus and at other locations. Also involved in the rehearsal and coordination of other choruses, he teaches Chinese at Eaglebrook School and organizes a Chinese affinity group.

Kan conducted numerous choir groups before his employment with Eaglebrook School. Through Indiana University, he conducted the Motet Choir, All-Campus Chorus, and the Morning Ensemble. Furthermore, he conducted at the Indiana AGO Choral Festival and served as an offstage conductor for the San Francisco Boys Chorus. In addition, Leo Kan has sung a variety of vocal parts in choir ensembles. Currently involved in the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, he participated as a member of the Indiana University Contemporary Vocal Ensemble and spent a year rehearsing and performing with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. Moreover, Kan collaborated with the San Francisco Lyric Chorus, the San Francisco State University Chamber Singers, and other local ensembles.

As a component of his classical music education at Cornell University and Indiana University, Leo Kan received two degrees in piano performance and a minor in organ performance and developed a thorough familiarity with performance accompaniment. Playing rehearsal or performance accompaniment for over a dozen choir groups and musical projects, Leo Kan also performed piano solos and taught private lessons.
