About Lee Kort

Lee Kort, an upcoming poker player, is a native of Los Angeles, California. His total live tournament winnings from the one event that he has played so far add up to a whopping $494,797. He participated in the World Series of Poker – Event 39 No-Limit Hold’em Championship on August 10, 2006. The WSOP final tournament was held in the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were 8,773 players present, all vying for first place. Despite the fact that Lee Kort walked in with less experience than many of the other players in attendance, he did fairly well.

After playing against several people, he came face to face with Jamie Gold. This opponent, a professional poker player from Malibu who ended up winning the tournament, behaved strangely at times, showing his cards frequently to other players and explaining his play. A couple of hands into the game, Lee Kort called Jamie Gold’s raise. After the flop, which revealed Jd 7d 4d, he moved all in. When Jamie Gold called with As Jc, Lee Kort still had a chance of winning with his Qd Jh. Unfortunately, the 5c and Js that came on the turn and river did not work in his favor. Still, Lee Kort managed to finish in twenty-second place in his very first event.
