Poker pro Lee Childs is a poker pro who lives in Reston with his wife, Jenny. He earned a BBA in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University, Virginia. He was a software engineer, and was working at "The JASON Project," an educational foundation affiliated to the National Geographic Society. This former Cave Spring High School student was interested in wrestling prior to turning to poker.
Lee Childs made his first money finish in Event 55 - World Series of Poker (WSOP) No-Limit Hold’em event at the 38th Annual WSOP tournament, in which he secured seventh place and took home a whopping sum of $705,229. Another accomplishment for Lee Childs was his second-place finish in Event 10 No-Limit Hold’em at the Inaugural Caesars Palace Classic tournament held on October 20, 2007, and he bagged a prize amount of $69,601. His maiden first-place finish came on October 26, at the Main Event No-Limit Hold’em of the Project Lifesaver Poker Tournament. At the end of the event, which took place at the Trump Taj Mahal, Lee Childs walked away with a tidy sum of $52,240 after outlasting an original field of 55 players. In the Poker Pages Ranking No-Limit Hold’em event of the Deep Stack Tournament held on November 15, 2007, Lee Childs ranked 15th and won $12,900 in prize money. On June 15, at the 39th World Series of Poker 2008 Tournament, in Event 29 No-Limit Hold’em, Lee Childs ranked 12th and added $24,702 to his bankroll. He also finished in money at the Deep Stack Extravaganza in Event 32 No-Limit Hold'em, which was held on June 29, 2008. As of 2008, he has 7 cashes to his credit and has total winnings of $867,799.
When not playing poker tournaments, Lee Childs works as an instructor at WPT Boot Camp. He also manages his own training company Acumen Poker.
