A graduate of The George Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics, Lawrence Goldfarb received the honor of working as a Legislative Assistant on the Foreign Relations Committee, authoring a paper on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). While pursuing a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Goldfarb earned an internship with Mayer, Brown and Platt (now Mayer Brown) before accepting positions as a Tax Attorney with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, LLP, and a Tax Analyst with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. From 1988 to 2005, Larry Goldfarb filled numerous executive roles at such firms as Credit Suisse First Boston, GFC Capital Corp., Shoreline Pacific Institutional Finance, and BayStar Capital, LP, guiding these companies and hedge funds to further success with a comprehensive knowledge of economics.
In 2005, Lawrence Goldfarb founded LRG Capital Group and worked as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer while writing books and delivering talks to schools and conferences about his investment strategies. In 2011, Larry Goldfarb announced his retirement from LRG Capital Group, but continues his work as Chairman of Om Entertainment Group and Vice Chairman of SessionEx, a technology firm.
Lawrence Goldfarb now focuses his attention on further support of charities and other philanthropic pursuits with organizations such as the Scleroderma Research Foundation and the Joe Toucan Diabetes Project. Named the American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year for 2010, Mr. Goldfarb raises a teenage son with Autism, and works with Autism Speaks on the Autism Mentors program in schools across the country.
