What is cosmetic surgery?
Cosmetic surgery is done to alter any odd physical attributes or maybe improve some features in the body. Cosmetic surgery is a broad subject which may refer to reconstructing surgery for those patients being damaged by a burn or any physical agony or it may also be done to erase any wrinkles in the face, improve bust size, or fix a crooked nose.
Cosmetic Surgery: Past and Present
In the past, cosmetic surgery is usually done as a necessity to the well-being and overall health of a certain patient. The procedure is done to repair broken jaw or nose due to an accident, skin-grafting because of serious burns or treating an unbecoming birthmark all over the face. Cosmetic surgery has been regularly used to treat soldiers during the World War 1 who has been badly injured and suffered, thus giving them hope especially to young soldiers.
Nowadays, cosmetic surgery is viewed as a procedure to enhance a structure in the body or completely alter these features in order to look beautiful. As celebrities and many rich and famous people undergo the process, they tend to disappear for some time and emerge to the public looking even slimmer, look much younger and prettier. People around the world have been bombarded with these extremely good-looking and sexy men and women on TV making them feel the need to have cosmetic surgery.
The procedure has been widely accepted to the point that a reality show on TV features about cosmetic surgery and how it will completely change a person’s life. Let’s face it; people these days are more likely to judge the book by its cover.
