During her first season with the Cross Country team at DePaul, Kristen Lafferty set a personal record with a time of 20:56 for a 5-kilometer run at the Notre Dame Invitational and ran a 4-kilometer race in 17:10 at the DePaul Opener. In the indoor category, she set a season best at 12:15.00 for the 3,000-meter race at the Chicago Duals. Prior to enrolling at DePaul University, Kristen Lafferty attended Brent International School Manila in Manila, Philippines. During her high school athletic career, she won gold medals in the 1,500- and 3,000-meter races at the Asia Pacific Activities Conference and received the title of Most Valuable Player of the 2008 Asia Pacific Activities Conference cross country championship in Guam. Active in multiple sports while in high school, Kristen Lafferty lettered in cross country, track and field, soccer, and touch rugby. In her free time, Kristen Lafferty enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, scuba diving, and traveling. She also devotes time to community service with the Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program, Inc., located in Chicago.
