Kinga Tibold - Professional Summary:   Ophthalmologist Kinga Michelle Tibold, MD, has primarily seen patients at hospitals in New York and in private practice in Maryland over the past 16 years. She has examined patients and performed eye surgeries as a member of the staff at Southern Maryland Ophthalmology, which maintains offices in Leonardtown and Waldorf. Between 1995 and 1998, Dr. Tibold worked as an Attending, Staff, or General Ophthalmologist at Brooklyn Medical Group, P.C., Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, and The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, all in Brooklyn, New York.

Aside from her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Kinga Tibold has performed research in her field and participated in professional presentations. During the final year of her residency in ophthalmology at Brookdale, when she also fulfilled the duties of Chief Resident, Dr. Tibold participated in a senior research project that focused on glove contamination during ophthalmic surgery. She also worked with two advisors to deliver a poster presentation on the subject of an epidemiologic study of risk-taking behavior among latch-key children. Dr. Kinga Tibold performed research in several studies over the course of her medical training at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. In the medical school's Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Kinga Tibold conducted a survey of visual changes in glaucoma patients after surgery. Before formally entering medical school, Dr. Kinga Tibold pursued postgraduate studies in the Department of Pathology at SUNY Buffalo's Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the nation’s first cancer research center. During her studies at Roswell Park, she participated in an examination of the preventative effects of Ipriflavin on Heparin-induced osteoporosis, and an investigation of drugs that suppress the aggregation of platelets.

Strathmore’s Who’s Who named Dr. Kinga Tibold an Honors Lifetime Member in 2000. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Duke University and her MD from SUNY Buffalo’s School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where she graduated magna cum laude. She belongs to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
