Kieron Dyer, an English footballer, was born on December 29, 1978 in Ipswich. This attacking midfielder of Antiguan descent has represented the England national team at Youth, Under 21 and 'B' level. He has won 11 caps for the England U-21 national team and three caps with the England B team. He made his first international appearance for the senior side on September 4, 1999, as a part of the starting eleven, in a 6-0 win against Luxembourg. Kieron Dyer was also a member of the national squad that took part in the 2002 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup and Euro 2004. After a gap of two years, he was recalled to the play for England in a friendly match against Spain on February 7, 2007. He earned his 29th cap in that match by starting instead of Wayne Rooney, in the 3-0 victory over Andorra on March 28, 2007. As of August 22, 2007 Kieron Dyer has made a total of 33 international appearances for the national football team.


Kieron Dyer started his career in football with the youth ranks in 1996 at his hometown club Ipswich Town as a trainee when he was 17. His impressive performances helped him gain a place in the first team and won him reputation as one of the top youngsters in English football outside the Premier League. Kieron Dyer played a total of 96 matches and netted 11 times during his tenure with the club.


In July 1999, Kieron Dyer was transferred to Newcastle United for a fee of £6m and became the only English player to be signed during the term of Ruud Gullit, the then manager of Newcastle. He scored his first goal for the club in a match against Sunderland.. On February 4, 2006 he made a comeback from a series of injuries to the first-team in a match against Portsmouth. He was back among the goals soon and scored one in the Football Association (FA) Cup fifth round tie against Southampton on February 18, 2006.


On November 18, 2006 Kieron Dyer scored again in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, becoming the first Newcastle United player to score at the Emirates Stadium. He carried on his scoring spree by netting in the matches against Tottenham, Bolton, Birmingham, Aston Villa, AZ Alkmaar and Watford. In his stint with the club he played a total of 190 matches and amassed 23 goals.


On August 16, 2007 Kieron Dyer transferred to West Ham United by signing a four-year contract and made his debut for the club on August 18, 2007 in its 1-0 win over Birmingham City.
