Kevin Davies, born on March 26, 1977 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, is an English footballer. He is also the half- brother of Chesterfield Football Club (F.C.) striker Jamie Jackson. As of 2008, Kevin Davies is a striker for Bolton Wanderers, and for once he has appeared in the English Under-21 team.


Kevin Davies made his League Debut in 1993 as a substitute for Chesterfield F.C. in the match against Walsall. In his five year stint with Chesterfield, he played 129 games and scored 22 goals. In May 1997, he joined Southampton F.C., and played his first match for his team in August. After his one-year term with Southampton F.C., Kevin Davies played his first match for Blackburn Rovers against Derby County in August 1998. After two years, he rejoined Southampton F.C. for a four-year contract. At the end of his contract, he was awarded the 2003 Football Association Challenge (F.A.) Cup runners-up medal by the club for his contributions en route to the finals. On the whole, Kevin Davies played 107 games for Southampton and made 19 goals.


Kevin Davies joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer in July 2003 and since then he has made more than 200 appearances, and has scored 40 times. He enjoyed a remarkable end to his first season at Bolton Wanderers Football Club when he was named as the Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year on November 17, 2004. He was also the proud recipient of the 2004 League Cup runners-up medal.

On November 8, 2007 Kevin Davies made an unforgettable goal against F.C. Bayern Munich, a German football club, at the Allianz Arena in Germany. His effort earned Bolton Wanderers a crucial away point from the 2-2 draw in the UEFA Cup group stage.


Kevin Davies scored his career’s 100th goal on April 12, 2008, in the 1-0 win over West Ham United at the Reebok Stadium. This played a vital role in their bid to secure their Premier League status in the 2007-08 campaign. In the 2008-09 English Premier League, Kevin Davies hit a goal against Stoke City in the opening day of the season, which was instrumental in their 3-1 win. For his valuable contribution to the Bolton Wanderers, Kevin Davies was given the 2008 Player of the year award.
