About Kevin Buckwalter
Ealry Career
Kevin R. Buckwalter, M.D. began his medical career studying Public Health at the University of Nevada. Buckwalter earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Health from the Reno based college in June 1968, after only three years. Kevin Buckwalter excelled in his undergraduate studies, earning the United States Achievement Collegiate Award in May 1987 and the Las Vegas Numismatic Scholarship several years earlier. While exploring his initial academic endeavors, Buckwalter participated in high level research alongside Dr. Agyli and the school’s Department of Zoology, where he assisted the completion of “Glial Regeneration in an Insect Central Nervous System” in July 1986.
Educational Achievements
After earning his bachelor’s degree, Buckwalter attended medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine, earning his Medical Degree in 1993. Buckwalter’s history of undergraduate success continued at Ross; he made the Dean’s List from 1988 to 1990, graduated with honors in the top 10 percent of his class, and participated in the Radiology Practicum for three months. In his last year at school, Kevin Buckwalter conducted vital research for “Latex Study: Involvement of Myelodysplastic Children,” which was run at the Shriners Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and advised by Dr. Bathgate, M.D. and Dr. Kelly, M.D.
Internship and Residency
Due to the ultra competitive nature of the medical world, it takes more than top grades and world class schooling too become a full-fledged doctor, so Buckwalter immediately leapt in to harsh world of medical internships, performing in the Department of Surgery in the Hershey Medical Center at the Pennsylvania State University Hospital. In 1995, with real world internship skills at the ready, Kevin Buckwalter began a three year residency in the Department of Family Medicine at the McKeesport Hospital at the University Of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Today, Buckwalter runs his own Nevada medical practice, Kevin Buckwalter, M.D. Ltd.
