Providing the services of a surgeon to the people of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Kent E. Moore is a dedicated oral and maxillofacial specialist who co-founded Charlotte Oral Surgery. With years of training and the experience from his practice, Dr. Kent E. Moore always strives to find ways to improve his work with oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS). Using new information and technology, Dr. Kent E. Moore is currently evaluating the effectiveness of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Here, Dr. Kent E. Moore is assessing the value of stereo video endoscopic applications in maxillofacial surgery using three-dimensional predictive models. In addition to testing the effectiveness of new dental technologies, Dr. Kent E. Moore has distributed his professional opinions and findings among varying research projects and medical publications. In 1983, Dr. Kent E. Moore conducted research for the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, using electron microscopy to look into the solubility properties of bone and teeth. Other articles that Dr. Kent E. Moore has published include a piece for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery titled "The Contributing Role of Condylar Resorption to Skeletal Relapse Following Mandibular Advancement Surgery – Report of Five Cases," in the May 1991 edition. Another one of Dr. Kent E. Moore’s articles titled "A Practical Method for Describing Patterns of Tongue-Base Narrowing in Adult Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea" was placed into the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in March of 2002. One of the most recent publications featuring Dr. Kent E. Moore’s work, a January 2010 piece titled "Oral Appliance Therapy and Surgical Therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnea," was published in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Surgical Knowledge Update series. This publication is distributed to all dentists within the United States and shows Dr. Kent E. Moore’s continued mastery and knowledge of the relationship between maxillofacial anatomy and upper airway anatomy and physiology.
