Dr. Kenneth Zahl spent his teenage years in Newark Valley, New York, and earned class valedictorian honors in high school. He then attended New York University where he developed an interest in physical chemistry. After receiving the Brown Scholar and Founders’ Day awards upon graduation, Dr. Kenneth Zahl's academic interests brought him to deepen his knowledge of biochemistry, surgery, anesthesiology, and orthopedics. He decided to specialize in anesthesiology and pain management at the Department of Anesthesiology of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. There, Dr. Kenneth Zahl received a faculty appointment. Dr. Kenneth Zahl's teaching position allowed him to share knowledge with students and stay informed about cutting-edge discoveries. While at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he benefited from an ever-changing, progressive research environment as well as an array of challenging cases. Dr. Zahl’s experience helped him to develop treatment therapies to manage patients' pain. Since 2009, Dr. Kenneth Zahl has served as a Director of Pocono Pain Clinic in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. His practice focuses on the diagnosis, management, and treatment of chronic pain conditions. Methods for treating pain have changed dramatically thanks to technical innovations, and Dr. Kenneth Zahl often relies on image-guided procedures for optimal accuracy. Dr. Kenneth Zahl enjoys sports and literature in his free time. Aside from cross country skiing and playing tennis, he regularly reads the works of Hemingway, Shakespeare, and John le Carre.
