About Karyn Malm
An alumna of North Central College, Karyn D. Malm has built a solid career as an education and business development professional. Karyn D. Malm went on to obtain her Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University. Committed to academic and professional excellence, Karyn D. Malm also obtained certifications in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Chicago and in Strategic Integration of Technology and Business Solutions from the University of Chicago. Karyn D. Malm commenced her professional career as a Development Assistant for Little Friends, Inc., where she first garnered experience in grant and proposal writing and coordinating special events. Over the course of her professional career, Karyn D. Malm honed her organization and management skills in positions of increasing importance and responsibility, including as Director of Admissions, Development, and Public Relations at The Avery Coonley School and as Director of Development at Robert Morris College, now Robert Morris University Illinois. After five years as the Director of Development, Karyn D. Malm was offered the position of Assistant to the President of Robert Morris University Illinois. Today, Karyn D. Malm splits her time between serving as Assistant to the President of Robert Morris University Illinois and pursuing her Master’s degree in Management. Wielding over two decades of organizational and public relations experience, Karyn D. Malm has proven to be an instrumental member of the President’s team. Expertly streamlining all activities of the President’s Office, Karyn D. Malm manages community representation, oversees development and internal marketing initiatives, and liaises with the Board of Trustees. Karyn D. Malm is a member in good standing of various professional and community organizations, including the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chicago Women in Philanthropy, and the Naperville Heritage Society. Karyn D. Malm’s managerial expertise has led to her inclusion on the Boards of Naperville Cable TV, the Black Star Project, the Rotary Club of Chicago, and the Naperville Youth Advisory Committee.
