Karga Holt a native of Atlanta, Georgia, burst on to the professional poker scene in 2006, finishing 7th, 24th and 12th at the Los Angeles Poker Classic No Limit Hold’em Events with $8,245, $2,148 and $7,857 respectively. Holt's total earnings in 2006 amounted to approximately $18,000.

Karga Holt pulled another surprise when he won around $140,000 at the final table, securing him a finish in the top five at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker No Limit Hold’em Championship Event held in June 2007. Holt also notched another win that year in the following month, again at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker in July 2007 playing in the World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold'em category. Here, Holt won $51,398 and placed 206th.

Holt continued his good run in 2008 when he secured 8th place and $211,050 at the 6th Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic WPT No-Limit Hold'em Championship in 2008.
