Julien Faubert is a professional football player who was born on August 1, 1983 in Le Havre, which is a city situated in the northwest region of France.
Julien Faubert has represented France internationally at the Under-21 level and has won seventeen international caps for the team with two goals to his credit. He was a part of the team from 2002 and played for two years, till 2004. Julien Faubert earned his first inclusion into the national team in 2006 and played his debut for France on August 16, 2006 in a match against the Bosnia and Herzegovina football team. This clash was heading towards a draw, but Julien Faubert turned it around and scored his first international goal in the final minute and helped France won the match 2-1.
Julien Faubert started his professional football career in 2002 when he signed to play for the Association Sportive de Cannes (AS) Football’s youth team. He went on to make forty five league appearances as a midfielder and had scored on four occasions. Julien Faubert ended his tenure with AS Cannes in 2004, following which he signed to play for the Football Club des Girondins de Bordeaux. He was also a part of the team that participated in the 2007 League Cup and helped his team win the tournament. Known as “Express Train” in the football world, Julien Faubert has played close to hundred games and netted nine goals during his three-year stint for Bordeaux.
A French sports newspaper report on June 23, 2007 stated that Julien Faubert was on the verge to sign with the Rangers for a transfer fee of £4.3 million. But, on July 1, 2007, he signed to play for the West Ham United football club on a deal that was worth £6.1 million and was given the squad number 20. Sixteen days after he signed for the club, he was selected to play in a pre-season friendly match against Czech side, Sigma Olomouc. During this match, Julien Faubert suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and had to be on the sidelines for about six months, but made a strong comeback into the reserve team in January 2008. On January 12, 2008 he made his maiden appearance for the club’s first team as a late substitute in a match against Fulham at Upton Park. As of 2008, he has made nine appearances for the club as a midfielder.
