Julie Insinga - Professional Summary:    

 

A graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) in Oneonta, Julie Insinga has a number of experiences in educating young children. As an education major at SUNY, she took part in observation and participatory experiences at several schools serving pre-kindergarteners through fourth graders. During her final semester at the university, Julie Insinga completed her student teaching requirement at Woodward Parkway Elementary School in Farmingdale, New York. Working with diverse groups of students, she developed lesson plans for fourth graders and first graders, the latter of whom were in an integrated co-teaching classroom setting. Insinga earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education with a concentration in English in 2011.

Beyond her academic training at SUNY, Julia Insinga further enhanced her skill set through participation in multiple professional development activities. In 2009, she attended the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Workshop where she obtained training in curricular planning. The educator took part the following year in the Expressive Arts Workshop in Oneonta, which focused on the incorporation of music, song, and dance in teaching. Insinga also participated in training geared toward phonics and vocabulary instruction at the Pearson Words Their Way: Word Study in Action event in 2011. She holds certification in child and infant CPR as well.

Julie Insinga recently worked with toddlers as an assistant teacher at the Imagine Early Learning center in Port Washington, New York. The educator also works as a private tutor for an elementary student needing assistance with phonics and reading skills. Additionally, she is a private caretaker for three young children, a position she has held since 2006.
