Juliano Haus Belletti famously known as just ‘Belletti’ was born on June 20, 1976 in Cascavel, Brazil. Juliano Belletti currently plays for Chelsea, where he initially started off playing midfielder and now plays as right back. In 1999, Juliano Belletti was awarded by Placar with the Silver Ball for ‘Continuous Great Performances’ after his exceptional game for Atlético Mineiro during the 1999 Brazilian Série A.

Juliano Belletti’s Early Career


Juliano Belletti started playing for Cruzeiro in 1993, and two years later Belletti moved to São Paulo where he took the spotlight in the starting line. In 1999, Juliano Belletti played for Atlético as the vice-champion of the Brazilian League. Juliano Belletti moved to Europe in 2002 and subsequently two years later, Belletti signed for Barcelona as the first choice right back and a key player on the team. On May 17th, 2006 in Paris during the match of Barcelona against Arsenal during in the 2006 UEFA Champions League Final, Oleguer was set to start instead of Juliano Belletti, but Frank Rijkaard brought Belletti to the game where he scored the second goal in the 2-1 win, giving club Barcelona the 2006 Champions League crown.

Juliano Belletti plays with Chelsea


On August 23, 2007, Juliano Belletti officially signed with Chelsea on a three year contract, and made his first English Premier League debut two days later as a substitute for John Mikel with the game ending 1-0 for Chelsea. Juliano Belletti scored two goals for Chelsea thus far, both of which have been long-range efforts. Juliano Belletti scored the first goal against Wigan Athelic on November 3rd, 2007 from 20 yards out, and scored his second goal against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge from 30 yards out. Belletti has become a regular starter in the right-back position at Premier League, Champions League, and Carling Cup games. Although, Juliano Belletti has only made one appearance during the 2006-2007 season, he is currently competing against Paulo Ferreira for the right-back position although his is the favoured player for starting place.
