Joseph Simmons from Philadelphia, PA is a professional poker player. He started his career with an impressive finish in September 2003 when he won $16,700 and secured second place in the $500 Limit Hold'em Event at the United States Poker Championship. On October 27, 2003, Joseph Simmons finished fifteenth in the $300 No Limit Hold'em Event at the World Poker Finals and took home $2,198 in prize money. In December of that year, Joseph Simmons ranked second in the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the 2003 Trump Classic and earned $7,935 in prize money.

The following year on October 1st, Joseph Simmons walked away with $2,230 by coming in fourteenth place in the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the 2004 United States Poker Championship. A few days later, he made $1,405 in the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the United States Poker Championship by finishing nineteenth. In March 2005, Joseph Simmons was thirteenth in the No-Limit Hold’em Event and took away $1,140 at the Harrah's Atlantic City Weekend Tournament. A month later, he won $2,756 and came seventeenth in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the New England Poker Classic. On June 10, 2005, he earned another $1,240 in the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the Harrah’s Atlantic City June Tournament by securing eighth place. In July, Joseph Simmons took home a handsome amount of $54,965 in prize money from the $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em - World Championship Event at the 36th World Series of Poker (WSOP). During September, Joseph Simmons had an impressive seventh-place finish at the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Borgata Poker Open and won $14,760.

On November 2, 2005, he came tenth in the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the World Poker Finals and bagged $12,490. Later that month, he finished thirty-third and won $2,233 in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the World Poker Finals. Joseph Simmons also played in the $2000 No-Limit Hold’em Event during November. He ranked twenty-eighth and earned $3,042 at this World Poker Finals event. In November 2006, he played brilliantly at the Foxwoods Resort Casino and outlasted a field of 283 players in the $530 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo World Poker Finals. He finished first and bagged $51,041 in prize money during this tournament.


His next big break came on January 26, 2007 in the $9,700 World Poker Tour (WPT) No-Limit Hold'em Championship Event at the Borgata Winter Open. Joseph Simmons finished fourth in this event and won a whopping $387,709. In June, he secured third place in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the Borgata Summer Open and made $28,688. He had an impressive eighth-place finish in the $530 Seven Card Stud at the 2007 World Poker Finals in October 2007 and earned an additional $2,294. In June of the following year, Joseph Simmons added $8,997 to his bankroll from the $2500 No-Limit Hold’em Event at the 39th WSOP by finishing fifty-seventh.
