About Jordan Rich

Having grown up in a family of avid poker players, Jordan Rich was raised in Portland, Oregon and has always been competitive by nature, a quality his folks encouraged. Growing up, Rich combined his key strengths - his competitive nature and his innate ability to read his opponents - to improve his poker skills. He learnt to play a lot of card games in high school; that's when he shifted gears and made studies his number one priority.

Making it big in the world of professional poker was always at the back of Rich’s mind. His obsession with professional poker spanned the spectrum - online poker, talking poker, reading numerous books on poker tactics and even a webite dedicated to developing new professional poker strategies and tactics. Consumed by his passion for poker, Jordan Rich started playing poker at small card rooms gathering a lot of important experience. This experience was vital in improving his skills to the point where he could finally play in large buy-in events and tournaments.

In 2007, Jordan Rich hit the jackpot when he secured sixth place in the World Poker Tour, No Limit Hold’em Championship Event, Doyle Brunson Classic, and won $289,070. Some of his other successes include finishing 6th and winning $77,075 at the Aruba Classic No Limit Hold’em Championship event held in the same year. Rich has also taken part in the LA Poker Classic - 7 Card Stud, held in February 2008, where he won $32,260 and finished 1st. A month later, Rich took part in the LA Poker Classic 2008 again. This time he played in the No Limit Hold’em Tag, where he collected $16,820 as prize money and finished in 1st place, repeating his performance of February.

When asked how he was able to achieve so much at such an early age, Rich attributed all his success to his strong determination, apart from his natural talents. Consistency is another strength that Rich is hoping to add to his key strengths so that he can convert small tournament and event wins into ‘hitting the jackpot’. His total earnings stand at approximately $600,000, not including his winnings at cash games and online games.
