Jon headed up Performance and Automation Testing services and was the Product Assurance Manager within the RBS Insurance Group (formally DirectLine, Churchill, NIG). The Product Assurance role involved developing and managing IT Dev test, release/configuration management and QA services, where the performance and automation role involved managing all non-functional testing (stress, load, performance, security, capacity).
Jon was also the lead LoadRunner consultant, responsible for technical testing across all applications. Prior to the RBS take over, Jon's Product Assurance role had been key to the advancement of the group's maturity within the follow areas:Process Enhancement
• Initiated, defined and implemented RBS' central defect tracking and test management process for Development and Test groups in the UK and India.
• Defined and introduced (through training) a structure defect management lifecycle group wide
Changes implemented
• Tool Supported Test and Defect Management - led to the deployment of TestDirector group wide with very significant discounts and reduction in both time to resolve defects and replication of tasks.

Testing Tools
Jon defined, built, trained and managed the Non-functional test team who used the following testing tools - TestDirector, LoadRunner, WinRunner, Quick Test Pro, Topaz, Site Scope.
• Implemented structured performance and automated testing across the group
• Largest project supported contained 45k test cases, 20k test requirements, 16k defects
• Communicated dynamic real-time metrics (defect resolution time dropped from 3.5 days to 1-1.5 days)
