John W. Archibald- Summary:
An Engineering and General Contracting Project Executive with Cobalt Construction Company since July, 2011, John W. Archibald holds project management responsibility for over 1,000 units in various stages of completion. Mr. Archibald began his career in construction in 1978 with Casden Properties LLC in Beverly Hills, California. Initially performing field supervision duties as Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Archibald moved into a Senior Purchasing Agent position with the firm in 1984. In this capacity, he contracted all apartment work. In total, he engaged in the construction of 5,000 apartment units and 1,000 homes during his initial 12 years with Casden Properties. Joining the Larwin Company in 1990, John W. Archibald served as Director of Construction Operations for four years. He successfully coordinated with the various departments of the firm, monitoring and directing customer service operations. Mr. Archibald also oversaw construction projects, directing a wide range of personnel including consultants, architects, and field staff. Mr. Archibald’s accomplishments with the Larwin Company included the construction of 1,500 homes and 7 model complexes.
In 1992, John W. Archibald established his own firm, ArchWay Builders, Inc., for which he continues to serve as President. He undertakes the construction of new homes as well as remodeling, commercial, and light industrial work. Mr. Archibald’s responsibilities with ArchWay Builders over the years have included purchasing, design work, drawing up construction documents, and contract administration.
From 1998 to 2011, John W. Archibald also served as Senior Vice President of Construction Operations with Casden Properties, delivering 3,000 new apartment units and 1,200 rolling rehabilitation units. Mr. Archibald was responsible for risk management and close-out documentation, among other tasks. Mr. Archibald additionally managed 3 commercial buildings with a total floor space of 175,000 square feet, and completed 50,000 square feet of new retail construction. A member of the Building Industry Association, he holds general building contractor licenses in California and Florida.
