John Siebert Plastic Surgeon - Professional Summary:    An expert in wound healing and cosmetic microsurgery, Dr. John Siebert has been called upon to present the results of his clinical and research careers at numerous conferences and symposia. Dr. John Siebert held professorships at New York University and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. John Siebert has served as a guest lecturer at several other institutions across the United States. Dr. John Siebert has given more than 120 presentations to date on topics ranging from aesthetic microsurgical facial reconstruction and preventative skin care to Treacher Collins Syndrome and microvascular reconstruction of the pediatric mandible. Dr. John Siebert has presented at conferences hosted by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the International Congress of Maxillofacial and Craniofacial Distraction, the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Plastic Surgery Research Council. Dr. John Siebert gave his first presentations while still a medical resident at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and he dramatically increased the number of speaking engagements after beginning his clinical career. In addition to oral presentations, Dr. John Siebert has published over 20 abstracts, 18 book chapters, and dozens of journal articles. Dr. John Siebert has received research grants from the John A. Hartford Foundation, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, and several other institutions. Dr. John Siebert’s research has dealt largely with scar prevention and microsurgery to the face. Outside of his academic career, Dr. John Siebert serves as an Attending Surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital; the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital; the New York Ear and Eye Infirmary; and the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. John Siebert is a member of more than a dozen professional societies, including the New York Academy of Medicine, the New York Microsurgery Society, and the International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, Dr. John Siebert previously studied chemistry at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Dr. John Siebert received numerous athletic awards during his undergraduate years, and he graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College in 1977.
