About John Roth

John Roth - Professional Summary:

´╗┐Immigration attorney John Roth graduated summa cum laude from Drew University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Russian Studies. While an undergraduate, John Roth won the Robert Fisher Oxnam Prize for Outstanding Political Science Major fluent in a foreign language (Russian). After completing his studies at Drew University, John Roth continued his education in law school and business school. In 1983, John Roth received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. The same year, IBM hired John Roth as an attorney in its law department. After serving in that capacity for three years, John Roth left the company in 1986 to open his own law firm, the Law Offices of John Roth. From 1990 until 2005, John Roth spent several months per year in Russia creating and maintaining startup businesses in the fields of computer software development, computer hardware manufacturing, and telecommunications. John Roth’s involvement in Russia led him to open an immigration law practice in 1995, which at first catered mostly to Russian nationals and their relatives and friends in the U.S. Eventually John Roth’s practice expanded to cover a wide range of immigration law specialties. The law firm (now named Roth Immigration Law Firm) currently has offices in Guangzhou, China; Manila, Philippines; Kyiv, Ukraine; and Moscow, Russia. An expert in consular practice, John Roth published in March 2009 a widely read critique of immigrant visa processing at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China. John Roth’s practice since February 2008 has increasingly focused on the field of EB-5 investor visas. In addition to preparing petitions, John Roth also advises clients about the merits of the various regional centers vying for investors under the EB-5 Pilot Program. In October 2010, John Roth obtained his SEC Series 7 license, allowing him to provide his clients with detailed advice regarding regional centers without running afoul of U.S. securities laws. Currently, fully half of John Roth’s clients are referrals from other top EB-5 attorneys, who send their clients to him for help in selecting a suitable regional center for their investments.
