About Johnny Flynn


Johnny Flynn, born on November 11, 1989, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is a professional football player. He made his debut for the Northern Ireland under-19 national football team, and he plays in the defense position.


He started his carrier with the Ballymena United football club in 2005 and he was a part of the team that won the match 8-0 against the Orangefield Old Boys football club in a game that was held on August 28, 2007.


He has been part of many winning matches while at the Ballymena United football club and the manager, Tommy Wright had a strong belief in this young player. Johnny Flynn was transferred from the Irish club Ballymena to Blackburn Rovers, an English Premier League football club based in the town of Blackburn, Lancashire and started playing in the central defender position. Johnny Flynn spent a week of trial at the Rover’s training ground and his impressive performance earned him a place in the Rovers squad. Mark Hughes, the former manager signed him in January 2008. In addition, Johnny Flynn is also believed to have been recommended to Rovers by Barry Hunter, ex-Northern Ireland defender.


As of 2008, Johnny Flynn has appeared in six matches as part of the reserve team and one as part of the Academy of Football during the 2007-08 season. He is looking forward to his first full football season with
