John Magill, also known as “The Wildcat”, is a professional poker player. He was born in 1965 and comes from Ireland and has been playing poker since he was 6 years old. His first appearance in the poker world was on December 10th, 2005, in The Cavendish Club Festival No Limit Hold'em Northern Ireland Texas Hold'em Championships. John Magill finished 11th and won $2.306. His preparation for this tournament was composed of playing poker online for about 20 hours a week. For participating in that Event he was qualified by playing online for $11.John Magill made his greatest success on August 10th, 2006, in the 37th Annual World Series of Poker Event #39 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em Championship WSOP FINAL. He finished in the 12th place and went home with a check for $1,154,527. John Magill said that he had to pay the tax to take part in the WSOP, but also said that it was a great investment. John Magill also participated in the PartyPoker European Open III No Limit Hold'em on December 11, 2006, where he finished 4th and won a prize of $30.000. His latest appearance in a tournament was on July 3, 2007, in the 38th Annual World Series of Poker Event #53 - WSOP Shootout - Limit Hold'em. John Magill finished 71st and became richer by $6.634.

John Magill claims that his favorite Poker game is No Limit Hold’em and his greatest ambition is to win a WSOP braclet. His total live tournament winnings exceed $1,193,469. He had one final table and five money finishes. John Magill now resides in Ballymena, Ireland and is married with two children, both of which boys.
