Employed by a subsidiary of an A&E firm that employs approximately 450 employees nationwide. Specializing in augmenting staff on small to medium size companies in the pharmaceutical/semi-conductor field with Project Management services. Performs the role of Construction Manager for the client directly.  In addition to serving as a Project Manager, also brings experience as multi-tasked Corporate EHS

Project Manager                                                                      Shut down – HOSPIRA, McPherson, KS

                                                                                                                              August 11- Present

 

GBA Builders team served as the Construction Manager for the client, Hospira. Duties included: oversight of the night-shift and the demolition/reinstall of the CUB to install of multiple AHU’s, lyophilozers, and  water softener systems, all while the production plant was under full operation and without any impact to production. All potential high impact activities took place after hours and during holiday schedule. In addition, also provided oversight on the EHS functions including pre-planning activities for day operations. 

 

 

MW US Group, Plano, TX                                                                                 July 2010 – July 2011

           

Employed by an A&E firm that is the subsidiary of the MW Zander Group of Stuttgart, Germany that

designs and constructs semi-conductor plants worldwide.

 

Project Safety Manager

Currently the Safety Manager on the GLOBALFOUNDRIES project in Malta, NY constructing a 300mm FAB that has been designed as a "Green FAB" with the objective of delivering cost-effective and sustainable wafer manufacturing to customers. At present, it is the largest commercial economic development project in the USA. This project is expected to come online in 2012 with 35,000 wafer starts per month at full capacity and is expected to create more than 1,400 jobs along with about 5,000 spin-off jobs.

 

Responsibilities included managing the environmental, health, safety, security and logistics for 50+/- safety coordinators and 2,300 construction workers. In addition to EHS and Security duties, was also the CERT team leader performing the primary EMS response to the project.


 

GBA Builders, Lenexa, KS                                                                                            2006 – 2010

Health and Safety Director

Safety Manager on the $1.4 billion Life Science project in Devens, MA for client Bristol-Myers and Squibb. 

GBA’s scope of work included management oversight of installation and reassembly of all process modules and process piping at the facility.  

Managed all aspects of construction safety and developed extensive safety procedures/job hazard analysis and inspected the project periodically to ensure timely and proactive corrective actions of any hazards. This project concluded with absolutely no injuries.

 

Project Manager

In this role, challenges presented tasks such as administration, document control, pricing, estimating, pay applications, hiring, supervisorial duties, QA/QC, payroll, change orders, design, attending weekly coordination meetings, schedule meetings, liaising with labor representatives, disciplining, motivating, purchasing, vendor liaison/payment, lay-offs and project close-out went seamlessly “hand in hand” with that of the safety duties.

Health and Safety Director of a construction management company that employed well over 700

employees, performing work in approximately 43 states and Canada. Projects niches included

retail, institutional, restaurant, and corporate.                                                   

 

 

Cox Engineering Company, Canton, MA                                                                                          2000-2005

 

Health and Safety Director at one of New England’s leading commercial mechanical companies vested with the responsibility for Health and Safety, worker’s compensation, general liability fleet safety, and claim processing for approximately 200 sheet-metal workers and pipe-fitters, working at two manufacturing facilities throughout New England and one in Tennessee.
