John Jeffrey Pruett’s family’s company, Louisiana Land & Water Company (LLWC), has grown in the past decades to serve over 7,500 families in northeast Louisiana, including many persons with minority status or receiving government assistance. President and CEO of the company, John Jeffrey Pruett uses the latest materials and methods to keep water, sewer, and garbage costs at competitive rates to consumers.
Due in part to John Jeffrey Pruett’s decision to develop each water plant to its largest safe capacity, the value of LLWC’s assets has increased from $1.75 million in 1986 to $18.5 million in 2010. Many plants do not have enough homes in their service areas to do this, so Pruett invites and assists other developers to absorb this extra capacity by starting new subdivisions or expanding existing ones; this results in lower costs for both builders and residents. John Jeffrey Pruett involves his company in each phase of development, from site planning to construction of streets, sewers, and sub-surface utilities. To date, LLWC has successfully developed 20 subdivisions. 
John Jeffrey Pruett’s formal education, combined with the experienced gained in a 4th-generation family company, have enabled him to learn from the changes in methods, materials, and regulations over the past 40 years. He earned his degree in Construction Engineering from North Louisiana University, with minors in Public Finance, Chemistry, and Business Administration. John Jeffrey Pruett also obtained a degree in Computer Engineering from the same school. He actively pursues continuing professional education, with certificates in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Water Production, Water Facilities Operation, and Management Training. 
John Jeffrey Pruett is active in community improvement as President of the Living Way Charity. He is also a former sponsor of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and a current donor to the Food Bank of Louisiana. He also supports the United New Testament Church, Church of Christ, and Trinity Institute of Christian Counseling. John Jeffrey Pruett enjoys motor sports, whether from competing as a sports car driver in the Can-Am series or taking part in extreme snowmobiling or snow and ice four-wheeling.
