Introduction
After graduating from James Madison University with dual degrees in Political Science and Public Administration, John D. Murray joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car's management training program, which eventually fueled his promotion into the company's senior executive ranks. For four years, John Murray led Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Midwest Operations as Senior Vice President, successfully moving operations from having the lowest operating margin to having the highest within the company. Prior to his role as an Enterprise Rent-A-Car SVP, Murray directed the same operation territory as a Corporate Vice President.
Career Accomplishments
Prior to accepting the role of SVP for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, John D. Murray served as Group Vice President of the company’s second largest rental operation in Wayne, New Jersey, where he produced three consecutive years of double-digit growth and company-leading operating profit. Murray also served as VP for Enterprise’s East Bay Region based in San Francisco, where his skilled leadership doubled profitability of the region in a four-year period.
March of Dimes Foundation
John D. Murray is a board member of the March of Dimes Foundation, a committee member for the Aim High organization and the Center of Creative Arts, and a capital campaign committee member for the John Burroughs School.
Outside Activities
John Murray currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri. He stays active by running, playing golf, and skiing. During his free time, Murray enjoys reading fiction and U.S. history.
