About John Blondel
An investment professional and Harvard graduate, John Blondel sits on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations that advocate education and community. Blondel received his A.B. in History and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard. He has sustained close ties with the university and currently acts as co-chair of his class for the Harvard College Fund. John Blondel has served as chair of the Harvard Board of Overseers committee for the Memorial Church at the university.
Outside his charitable work with Harvard, John Blondel sits on the Board of Directors and the Investment Committee of The Jackie Robinson Foundation. Founded in 1973, the reputable nonprofit organization aims to honor the legacy of the first African-American Major League baseball player by empowering minority students with full university scholarships. A passionate advocate of intellectual pursuits, Blondel offers his insights to The Academy of American Poets as a member of the board of the Academy. The 77-year-old nonprofit entity supports working poets, organizes National Poetry Month, and funds poetry events throughout the United States. In addition to his efforts with these groups, John Blondel serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the High Line, the institution that helped build and maintains the popular New York City park.
Born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, Blondel currently functions as a Managing Director with Goldman Sachs, a New York investment firm founded over 130 years ago.
