Joel Tracy subsequently founded his own consulting firm, Informed Business Decisions, Inc. in 1999. Joel Tracy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Furthering his education, Joel Tracy attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison's renowned Market Research Program to pursue his Master of Science in Business with a concentration in marketing and marketing research. Upon establishing a solid academic foundation in marketing practices, Joel Tracy entered the workforce to apply his skills. After two years in this position, Joel Tracy transitioned to S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., where he acted as a Senior Marketing Researcher and initiated research plans designed to direct new products and product category leaders. Joel Tracy returned to The Upjohn Company as a Worldwide Senior Marketing Research Consultant and Group Lead, and later as a Business Intelligence Manager for Pharmacia & Upjohn, Inc. Other positions that Joel Tracy has held include Manager of Global Marketing Research for Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Dermatology Division and Marketing Research Manager for Searle. More recently, Joel Tracy has been operating as a consultant of his own Massachusetts-based consulting firm, Informed Business Decisions. Drawing from his extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Joel Tracy develops marketing plans for large-scale projects, such as a high-priority product launches for Roche and Genentech. Joel Tracy has also designed high-level strategies for Japanese venture capitalists and partner companies, such as Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Industries Corporation, and Japan Agriculture. Joel Tracy is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group.
