Jerome Thomas, is an English footballer, who was born on March 23, 1983 in Wembley. He primarily plays as a winger but efficiently manages the central position. He is the cousin of Jonathan Fortune, Clayton Fortune and Kano, who are also professional footballers.
Jerome Thomas was a part of the England Under-21 national team in the 2002-03 season, during which he scored a goal for his country.
Jerome Thomas kicked off his football career at the Luton Town football club, when he was a schoolboy. He joined Arsenal as a trainee at the age of eighteen and was a part of the team, when the club clinched the Football Association (FA) Youth Cup in 2000 and 2001. He went on loan to Queens Park Rangers for the 2001-02 and the 2002-03 seasons and made his mark there by contributing a couple of long distance goals. Jerome Thomas appeared last for the club in its match against Wigan in October 2002. He returned to Arsenal in the 2003-04 season, following which he represented the team in three matches of the League Cup.
Jerome Thomas moved onto Charlton Athletic on February 2, 2004, after signing a two and a half year deal with the club for a fee of £100,000. He made his Premiership debut for the team against Leicester City in May and scored his first goal in the club’s win over Tottenham in November. In August 2006, he signed a new three year contract with the club and made his presence felt in the club’s 103 matches scoring seven goals.
After a remarkable brief loan stint with Portsmouth, Jerome Thomas eventually signed a one year deal with the club on August 21, 2008. He represented the club for the first time in the league match opposing Chelsea.
