Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai opened in September 2008 as a 1500+ bedroom resort with the largest waterpark attraction (Aquaventure) in EU and Middle East, 17 restaurants (inc celebrity chef dining), 65,000 fish habitat, The Lost Chambers and Dolphin Bay attractions, and boutique shopping avenues.
- Recruited a strong marketing team to achieve on-property revenue goals for resort, restaurant and waterpark
- Established a well-articulated brand positioning for resort and created brand names and identities for each of the 17 restaurants, waterpark attractions, and on property facilities. Oversaw signage and wayfinding for resort.
- Hired Saatchi+Saatchi advertising agency and Walker Media (media buy team) after international pitch to launch and position brand in key international feeder markets as well as regional/local markets. Led online strategy working with Digitas London.
- Delivered promotional and sales support materials to meet 08 and 09 revenue goals
- Worked closely with key travel trade partners internationally and Dubai government tourist body DTCM
- Implemented key segment marketing campaigns (MICE and local initiatives) to support lead generation
- Established a CRM programme
- Spearheaded partnerships to deliver exposure amongst key audiences

One&Only Resorts www.oneandonlyresorts.com (Mar 2003 - Oct 2007)Group Director Brand Communications. Team of 3 direct reports, with brand responsibility worldwide.Planned and controlled above and below the line marketing activities to launch and build positioning of One&Only as leading luxury resorts group. Managed pre-opening planning for new resorts.
- Launched One&Only as a new resorts brand from scratch to a multi-million pound brand in 18 months. This was one of the most significant re-brandings within the resorts industry, achieved within immoveable deadlines and across multiple markets
- Created distinctive black and white advertising campaign in contrast to industry norm, resulting in 79% spontaneous brand awareness in UK customers, and over 58% in Germany, France and US
- Devised and managed an aggressive implementation programme to re-brand existing 6 resorts from signage and operational collateral through to customer communication materials within 8 months. Launched a resort directory and award-winning website
- Created brand guidelines and templates for worldwide application by resort marketing teams, sales offices and design agencies; created new resort opening brand manual detailing budgets, timescales, design templates for all operational and promotional printed materials. Created and implemented the pre-opening marketing launch campaign for new properties including One&Only Maldives at Reethi Rah
- Formed partnerships delivering new customers; instigated short lead-time promotional campaigns increasing room revenues including low season and crisis management campaigns (post Iraq war, SARS, and Tsunami events)
- Instigated qualitative and quantitative customer research in key markets to measure brand awareness, holiday booking habits and consideration amongst competitive set

- Advised Hilton on future business development strategy for incentive and meetings segment by instigating customer research in conjunction with ITMA and identifying new market opportunities (fixed term project)
- Developed marketing strategy for holidaynet.com to leverage its exclusive rights to a new streaming media technology for destination and hotel websites
- Co-founded Full Circle Diving Ltd, and marketed scuba-diving expeditions of 10 weeks' duration; film footage from each expedition was broadcast on Sky and National Geographic
