As the host of her self-titled courtroom program, Judge Jeanine Pirro uses her highly respected legal expertise to preside over small claims cases. In addition to hosting her own television program, Ms. Pirro is also a familiar face as a legal commentator on shows such as “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America” and FOX News. Jeanine Pirro’s career has been devoted to public service and protecting society’s most vulnerable. She is an advocate of women’s rights and a published author. Pirro has served as a County Court Judge and as the chief law enforcement officer for Westchester County as District Attorney. Jeanine Pirro is highly regarded in the legal community, and through her television program, brings her no-nonsense, yet compassionate, style to viewers across the United States. Jeanine Pirro’s distinguished legal career spans over 30 years crusading for crime victims, the weak and disenfranchised. In 1975, she became an Assistant District Attorney for Westchester County, New York. Pirro was the first female to prosecute murder cases in county history. In November 1990 Pirro was elected to serve as a Westchester County Court Judge, becoming the first woman in the county’s history to serve in that role. In November, 1993 Judge Pirro was elected District Attorney, again becoming the first woman in the county to hold such a position. Pirro was re-elected as the county’s chief law enforcement officer in 1997 and 2001. Additionally, in 1997, Jeanine Pirro was appointed by then Governor George Pataki to chair the New York State Commission on Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board, whose findings resulted in legislation being passed that increased protections and safeguards for domestic violence victims. In 2005, although Jeanine Pirro announced she would not seek a fourth term as the District Attorney of Westchester County, she has continued to be a vocal advocate for the rights of crime victims. Jeanine Pirro earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Buffalo, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctor at the Albany Law School of Union University, where she was on law review.
