Dr. Jay Selznick attended New York University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1986. He was then accepted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he studied oral and maxillofacial surgery and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1990. Dr. Jay Selznick then completed his internship and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kings County Hospital Center and SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Currently, he practices at Southern Nevada Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, LLC, where he has been known for wisdom tooth extractions since he began work there in 1995. Dr. Jay Selznick also serves as the Associate Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Las Vegas’ University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
With a license as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon from the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners, Dr. Jay Selznick is affiliated with a number of hospitals and medical centers in Southern Nevada, including Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Valley Hospital Medical Center, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, Desert View Regional Medical Center, North Vista Hospital, and Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Jay Selznick regularly donates surgical care to patients in need and also sees Medicaid patients. His practice, Southern Nevada Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, also offers a $999 Wisdom Tooth Special, including everything from the anesthesia for the procedures to the initial examination, all necessary x-rays, and removal of all four wisdom teeth, regardless of impaction.
Dr. Jay Selznick belongs to the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the Nevada Dental Association, and the Nevada Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He continues to attend lectures and continuing education seminars in order to keep abreast of the latest trends in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Jay Selznick enjoys boxing, hiking, cycling, skiing, and swimming. He belongs to the Republican Jewish Coalition, and currently resides in Southern Nevada.
