Jaye Rancourt - Professional Summary:
Attorney Jaye Rancourt began her post-secondary education at Elmira College in upstate New York, where she studied psychology and criminal justice. In addition to her studies, she participated in four honor societies: Phi Eta Sigma, Psi Chi, Phi Alpha Theta, and Omicron Delta Kappa. After graduating cum laude in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts, Jaye Rancourt enrolled in the University of Maine School of Law. She made the dean’s list repeatedly, served as Co-Chairperson of the Third Year Moot Court Board, and took part in the Maine Association for Public Interest Law auction as a Chairperson. In 1999, she graduated with her Juris Doctor. Upon graduation, Jaye Rancourt obtained employment with the New Hampshire Public Defender as a Staff Attorney. In this role, she managed a heavy caseload in Merrimack County, providing defense for clients accused of misdemeanors and felonies. Jaye Rancourt prepared for and defended in more than 20 trials. Additionally, she directed investigations of alleged criminal offenses. She also mentored a summer intern and served on the committee responsible for hiring new staff attorneys. In 2003, Jaye Rancourt accepted a position with Brennan, Caron, Lenehan & Iacopino, where she works today. Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, the firm boasts an uncompromising dedication to the law. Jaye Rancourt focuses her practice on criminal defense, performing litigation in several courts, including the New Hampshire Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In addition to defending clients in both bench and jury trials, she researches and creates appellate briefs. Outside of the courthouse, Jaye Rancourt stays current on legal issues through memberships in the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the New Hampshire Bar Association.
