Javier Garrido Behobide also known as Javier Garrido is a professional football player, who was born on March 15, 1985 in Irun, Spain. He plays in the left-back position and has won four international caps for Spain’s U-21 team.


In 2001, Javier Garrido began his professional football career by playing for Real Sociedad B, which is one of the top team in the Spanish Segunda División league. He spent two seasons with the club and has made a total of fifty appearances for them. His impressive performance for the reserve side earned him a place in the senior division during the 2004-05 season. In his debut season for the senior side, he made thirty appearances for the club and continued his good form in the following season as well. He played 34 games for the club in the 2005-06 season and established himself as a strong defender. In the same season, he also holds the record for spending most of his time on the pitch than any other Sociedad player. During his stint at Real Sociedad, Javier Garrido has made a total of eighty six appearances and has also scored one goal for the club.


On August 2, 2007, Javier Garrido signed with Manchester City football club for a deal that worth £1.5 million. This deal keeps him at the club for four years till 2011 and he is also the first Basque player to represent the club. He made his premiership debut for the club in a match against West Ham United on August 11, 2007. He was also in the squad that defeated Sunderland. As of 2008, Javier Garrido plays for Manchester city and has made a total of twenty seven appearances for them.
