The Jamie Gold Controversy

Prior to the 2006 World Series of Poker Championship, Jamie Gold was approached by Bodog Entertainment to enter a business relationship of finding celebrities who would be willing to play main events under the Bodog banner in exchange for paid entries. Jamie Gold partnered with Crispin Leyser for this business expenditure in exchange for half of Gold’s winnings should he win the tournament. Jamie Gold won a $12,000,000 prize for first place at the 2006 WSOP and kept the entire prize to himself. Later that year, Crispin Leyser sued Jamie Gold after a December court hearing the two parties settled on an undisclosed amount.
