About James Taterka
Possessing two decades of experience, Dr. James Taterka serves as a respected physician in the Philadelphia area. Dr. James Taterka laid the foundation for his career at the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. In 1981, he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Biology. Furthering his education, Dr. James Taterka relocated to New York in order to attend Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons.
During this period, Dr. James Taterka enjoyed success as a student, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He later accepted an internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian. Eventually, Dr. James Taterka relocated to Philadelphia in order to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Since then, Dr. James Taterka has remained an active member of the area’s thriving medical community. In 1991, he became an Attending Physician. He has since served as a staff member at some of the area’s most prestigious medical facilities, including Chestnut Hill Hospital and Lansdale Hospital of Abington Health. Today, Dr. James Taterka serves as Medical Director at Springfield Ambulatory Surgical Center in Flourtown, Pennsylvania. In this role, he treats all major gastrointestinal diseases, specializing in colon cancer and liver disease.
Outside to his duties as a practicing physician, Dr. James Taterka also oversees the day-to-day management of the facility and evaluates the performance of his staff. In conjunction with his work with the Springfield Ambulatory Surgical Center, Dr. Taterka also functions as a Physician at Hillmont G.I., PC. Dr. James Taterka is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. James Taterka enjoys spending time with his family. Dr. James Taterka also likes hiking, skiing, and reading.
