As a Dentist, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove remains committed to top-notch education. In order to fully prepare himself for dental school, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove spent his undergraduate years studying chemistry and biology, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1994. A year later, he enrolled in the School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1999. While undergoing a rigorous curriculum designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of oral biology, clinical sciences, and behavioral sciences, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove conducted directed research on methods of detecting a certain parasite in drinking water.

 

Throughout his career, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove has continued expanding his knowledge through various courses and research. In 1996 and 1997, he focused his research on the effects of collagen in articular cartilage post-anterior disc displacement surgery. Additionally, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove published an article about localized collagen in osteoarthritic cartilage using Immunogold labelling in the Journal of Dental Research. Furthermore, he travels nationally and internationally taking courses on a variety of dental topics, including sedation, TMJ treatment, bone grafting, implant prosthetics, and medical emergencies.

 

Due to his extensive knowledge, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove received the honor of serving as a Fellow for the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. After receiving exemplary training, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove opened his own practice in Atlanta, Georgia, where he focused on restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. In February of 2011, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove will serve as a Dentist for Nanston Dental Group and Great Expressions Dental Centers. Dr. James Lauren Hargrove maintains strong ties to the dental community through his participation with the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta.
