Jade Goody is a British reality television celebrity born on 5 June 1981 in Bermondsey, London. At the age of five, Jade Goody appeared in the pilot episode of ITV’s London's Burning. Jade Goody worked as a dental nurse before contesting in the third series of the UK’s version of Big Brother.
In 2002, Jade Goody made her cameo appearance in Big Brother, and since then, she made several television appearances like What Jade did Next, Celebrity Wife Swap, Celebrity Driving School, Back To Reality, BBC’s Celebrity Weakest Link and Channel 4's Big Brother Panto Christmas 2004. She regularly appeared in celebrity, trivia and gossip-oriented magazines such as heat and OK! and has earned approximate £1.5 million from other reality shows. She also contributed a weekly column to NOW magazine. She once again appeared in the reality TV show Big Brother in 2007 and in Big Boss, an Indian version of Big Brother reality show in 2008. With the help of her agent John Novel, Jade Goody was able to earn a brand image of “a lovable bimbo”. Her fans admired Jade Goody for her simple living, and she became a role model for many.
Jade Goody was engaged in many projects to raise money for charity. She signed up for the 2006 London Marathon and raised £565.20 for the NSPCC children’s charity. She also donated her £50,000 fee from CBB and her £50,000 interview fee from the News of the World to charity causes nominated by her and Shilpa Shetty, an Indian well-known actress. In 2006, she competed in celebrity Mastermind for sport relief.
Jade Goody published her autobiography titled Jade: My Autobiography on 2 May 2006 and launched her own perfume Shh...in June 2006, which went onto be in the list of top three best selling perfumes in the UK . She has opened two beauty salons, Ugly’s in Hertford in September 2005 and Homme Fatel for men in October 2008. Her face and name was borrowed for a cook book Christmas Dinner with Jade Goody, which contains the recipe of traditional Christmas food with a DVD featuring Jade Goody and her two sons. Jade Goody also provided many fitness DVDs to her fans like Jade's All new diet by Jade Goody and Steve Kemsley in 2003. In 2004, she released Jade's Workout, Workout with Helen and The "Girls" from Big Brother with the help of Helen Adams, a co-contestant from Big Brother. She purchased a brand new Bentley Continental GTC sports car that costs up to £130,000, in 2008.
In 2006, Jade Goody was ranked 25th in a poll conducted by heat for the most influential person in the world and on 25 March,2006, she participated and won the Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes, a British television talent show. Although in August 2008, Jade Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer, she is living life to its fullest.
