About Isaiah Osbourne

Isaiah Osbourne is a professional football player, born on November 15, 1987 in Birmingham, England. He is also the brother of Isaac Osbourne, who is a midfielder at the rival club, Coventry City.

Isaiah Osbourne has represented England at the international level in the Under-16 team, and he has been trying out for the England Under-21 squad.

As a youngster, Isaiah Osbourne attended the Kingsbury School and Sports College. He began his professional career in 2006 by signing a contract to play for Aston Villa. With the arrival of Martin O’Neill as the manager of Aston Villa, he was given the squad number 27. Isaiah Osbourne made his Premiership debut on October 21, 2006 against Fulham at Villa Park. He came into the field in the second-half replacing teammate, Steven Davis. Since then he has often been a part of Aston Villa’s first-team and has played in most of the games. Isaiah Osbourne had also shown impressive form while playing for Villa’s second team and also proved to be a versatile player who can play as a central defender, whenever the need arose. During the 2006-2007 season, Isaiah Osbourne made the starting line-up in six league matches, and in the following season, he started in one game at Bolton. He also came in as a substitute in seven other games, including League Cup ties against Wrexham and Leicester City.

On December 28, 2006, Aston Villa extended his contract period by another three and a half years, which meant that he will be playing for the club till the summer of 2010. Isaiah Osbourne agreed to play for Leicester City on loan, but Martin O’Neill canceled the proposed move after a few days because of injury concerns.

This midfielder has been compared to Patrick Vieira, captain of the Arsenal football club and the French-team, because of their similarities in height and tackling ability. Isaiah Osbourne has established his name as one of the best players of the club’s competitive reserve outfit, and the club has been interested in offering him a long-term deal.
