Iqbal Abdulla is an 18-year-old cricket player from Mumbai India. The left-handed all-rounder has represented Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and has also played for the India Greens team in the Challenger Trophy. Abdulla was also a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the first season of the Indian Premier League.

Abdulla is an orthodox spin bowler and useful lower order batsman and even at the age of 18, has shown tremendous maturity in his performances. The youngster came into the limelight when he put in an impressive performance to pick up five wickets against Haryana in a Twenty20 game.

Iqbal Abdulla was selected for the Indian Under-19 team for a tri-series in Sri Lanka, where he picked up eight wickets, ending the series as the third-highest wicket-taker. He was also an important part of India’s U-19 World Cup winning team in Malaysia, picking up 10 wickets at an average of just 13.

Although he has only one domestic half-century to his name, Iqbal Abdulla has been a useful contributor lower down the order for Mumbai, maintaining an average of around 20. Abdulla also has 26 wickets from 14 matches to his name on the domestic circuit, with best figures of 3 for 29.

Abdulla made his Twenty20 debut against Baroda in April 2007. He was also part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League, a T20 championship initiated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which sees top players from around the world competing in eight different teams for different Indian cities.
