About Ian Wallace Stony Brook

Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in anthropology at Stony Brook University, Ian Wallace expects to graduate in October 2013. He is a Turkana Basin Institute graduate fellow with research interests spanning locomotor biomechanics and bone biology. Focused on human and primate evolution, Ian Wallace has participated in paleontological and archaeological excavations in locations worldwide, including Kenya, Syria, and France.

Mr. Wallace completed his bachelor’s degree in anthropology summa cum laude at the University of Minnesota and began his graduate studies at Stony Brook University in 2006. Since 2010, he has served as the editorial assistant for the scientific journal Evolutionary Anthropology. With past experience as a teaching assistant in undergraduate and graduate level human anatomy courses, Mr. Wallace is currently initiating a postdoctoral research instructor position with the anthropology department at Stony Brook University. Over the past eight years, Ian Wallace has published multiple journal articles, including most recently “Physical activity engendering loads from diverse directions augments the growing skeleton” (Journal of Musculoskeletal and Neuronal Interactions, 2013).
