About Ian McHenry
A management professional with a focus on transportation and clean technology and a background in finance, Ian McHenry brings a diverse background and international sensibility to all his professional roles. Displaying an entrepreneurial spirit since running his own business during college, Ian McHenry has worked in the Middle East, Central America, Kenya, and across the United States. Heading to Princeton in 2001 after graduating from high school in California, Ian McHenry studied in the Department of Politics as an undergraduate. A competitive runner in high school, Ian McHenry spent one season running middle distance for Princeton University Track and Field. Reflecting his keen interest in the outdoors and traveling, he spent the summer after his freshman year living in a Mayan village in Belize, working at Five Blues Lake National Park as a Volunteer Park Ranger and Grant Writer.
While at Princeton, Ian McHenry also ran the university’s Campus Newspaper Delivery Agency, a service contracted with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today and one that entailed nearly a quarter-million in sales. Consistently maintaining a high level of scholarship, Ian McHenry was the recipient of grants from the Department of Politics and the Dean of the College. Prior to going into management consulting, Ian McHenry worked as an Investment Banking Analyst following his 2005 graduation. After moving to the Bay Area for a position with Deutsche Bank, McHenry began working as a Consultant for Oliver Wyman's San Francisco office in 2007.
During his tenure at Oliver Wyman, one of the top management-consulting groups in the world, Ian McHenry focused his work on the transportation sector and investment evaluation in the Middle East and Europe. In November 2009, Ian McHenry moved to Kenya to serve One Acre Fund as a Program Associate. Applying his skills in team management and financial analysis, he successfully launched a new product line and solar products division for the microfinance organization. Ian McHenry enjoys running, surfing, motorcycling, and climbing in his free time.
