About Horizons Gym

 We are a private members health club, in Stockwell, South London, with a view to fostering a community of friendly health orientated members. As a club, we aim to ensure that we are never too crowded, and never too busy to offer you some help.

New members are welcomed, "inducted" and guided by our fitness staff, so if you're unsure, we are here to guarantee your first experiences are good ones. We'll design you a programme and then give you as much attention as you need.

Not Corporate…..Not complicated………....Just kind………..

Our gym is not pressurized.

We aim to foster a pleasant environment for all members to train in. Whether you're a seasoned gym user or just bumbling along, you'll fit right in. It's all about just doing what you want to do. It's your time, so do it in your own style.

 

When you join we will show you how to use your gym. And when your initial sessions are up we’ll update your programme again, and again, to keep you on the right track. No matter how far along you are we are here to  update, refresh and advance your programme to suit your needs.

 

Whatever you train for “Core” training focuses on the deep muscles of your abdomen to give you the foundations for proper exercise, improving your body’s alignment and posture. To help with this Horizons offers classes in Pilates, Stability ball and Yoga for all its members. 
 

Horizons uses top quality equipment from brand leader Technogym and has recently invested in the groundbreaking new Power Plate equipment as endorsed by Madonna. Based on the concept of “Accelerated Vibrational Training” it increases muscular strength & endurance, increases metabolic rate, improves joint stability, posture & balance. And what’s more does it in short 10 minute sessions for those with little time to spare.


 
Specialist Training 
 
Should you need some extra encouragement or some individual goal setting then you can take advantage of the personal trainers who work out of Horizons. Fully qualified and REPS accredited, the PTs offer a 30 minute consultation before deciding what could be the best way of meeting your goals.

 

As we're all different so your training schedule should reflect this. A good personal trainer will bring this out and guide you to your goals.

 

You will need to bring your own commitment to exercise, our commitment to you will be to make your experiences as positive as possible at every turn.

 

 New Equipment

 

The club has just purchased 2 Nautilus Treadclimbers for general use in the gym. This years premium piece of equipment claims to better utilise your time, burning twice the calories in the same time as an equivalent work out on the treadmill or cross trainer. The workout is based on hill walking; has no impact and works your balance. Good for older people and those new to exercise, this has proven to be a popular choice in the gym. This should become a staple of your regular exercise routine. As ever our instructors will be on hand to give you full guideance.
