Hevad Khan, born in Poughkeepsie, New York, is best known by his nickname – Hevad “Rainbow” Khan. Hevad Khan spent most of his high school years playing the video game StarCraft and soon became a master at it. Hevad Khan begun on the competitive Starcraft Bloodwar at the age of 13 – then he started teaching himself how to be a winner. Playing tricks, being unpredictable are things that really help a player, but that’s not all it takes. In order to be the person you have to be, you need to train your mind to think fast and efficient. . He was good enough to start competing regularly and soon be rewarded for his efforts. After a few years, he adapted his nickname to RaiNKhaN, coming from the Mortal Kombat fictional character “Rain”, who serves as an assassin in the series.
In time Hevad Khan found a far more lucrative way to spend his time. It was when he studied at the SUNY Albany when everyone seemed to be playing poker. Hevad Kahn was inspired by watching Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer win millions of dollars on TV, so he decided to see what the game really was like. When he graduated high school, Hevad Khan received some money as a gift. He used them to begin playing at PokerStars and very soon earned a heavy amount of money. Then he gained the ability to participate in even more than one tournament at the same time. His appetite for playing was so big that some players thought he was a poker bot. They didn’t believe it was possible to play so well in so many games at the same time. But Hevad Kahn filmed himself playing all the tournaments at the same time and launched the video online. Not long after that, he became an online poker legend.
Since then, Hevad Khan was no longer just a player, he was THE player. Finding success in not only online events, but on the live circuits as well, Hevad Kahn participated in the 2007 World Series of Poker and cashed in two preliminary events for a combined total of over $20,000. That was just the beginning. Six days later, he got to the final table and finished 6th for a $965,243. In March, 2008 he finished 1st in the Foxwoods Poker Classic/ World Poker Tournament Ecent Season 6 and earned $13,473.
Hevad Khan has always been a player and it shows – only a person who has winning in his blood can be as unique as him. As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,200,000.
