Heung Yoon was born on the 25th of March in South Korea. When he was only 17 Heung Yoon moved to the United States in order to finish his education there and currently resides in Woodbridge, Virginia, USA. The nickname “Scott” or “Scotty” Heung Yoon gave himself, because it was much easier for his teachers and friends in the USA to remember him, rather than using his birhtname. After finishing high school Hueng Yoon became involved in the business with real estates and later became a real estate agent to support financially his wife and two sons.
In about four years ago, Heung Yoon started playing a little poker online, to entertain himself in his spare time. In time he became more and more interested in it and started participating in some the biggest Tournament events. His biggest cash was in a $100 buy-in tournament where he took home a $1600 prize at the Taj Mahal. That was before he participated in the big competition in 2007. Heung Yoon finished 2nd in the World Poker Tour (WPT) No-limit Hold’em in the 20th September, 2007 winning $ 832,725 in cash. He was second to Roy Winston who after a long game, manage to eliminate him in New Jerse. In January 28th , 2008 during the next WPT Heung Yoon finished 23rd with a prize only of $ 1,131. Five months later, on the 22nd of June, at the World Series of Poker he finished 65th winning $ 2,794.
Heung Yoon, being a player with specific talent, continues to play poker even today, as much as possible. And more often Heung Yoon goes at the poker events in Atlantic City, because it’s closer to home and his family.
As of 2008 Heung “Scotty” Yoon total cash winning is $ 836,650.
