About Harvey Manes
Overview
Harvey Manes has an astounding amount of titles associated with his name. He is not only a successful doctor who owns his own Orthopedics and Physical Therapy practice, but also an avid art collector, sculptor, philanthropist and attorney who specializes in Art Law. Although most of these elements have no common denominator, Manes is able to intertwine these entities together in his life.
Career
Dr. Manes started his own practice in Long Island, where he served his community for the past 25 years. He was the youngest doctor to become Board Certified in orthopedics in the Country and the first orthopedic surgeon to implant an elbow and ankle replacement in his area. Harvey Manes is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Recently he received the AMA certificate of achievement award, and he still dedicates himself to making innovations and contributions to the field.
Dr. Manes has published an abundance of orthopedic-related articles, as well as made various appearances on TV and the radio. Dr. Manes was also the creator of The Total Orthopedic Pain Relief Cream—yet Manes did not limit his interests to just medicine. He is also a practicing Art Law attorney.
Education
Dr. Harvey Manes began his medical career at Downstate Medical School, where he received his M.D. Hethen proceeded on to Kings County Hospital at Downstate Medical Center for his residency where he practiced orthopedic surgery.
After spending over twenty years as a clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery and teaching surgery to numerous resident physicians at Nassau County University Hospital, he then decided to go back to school at Hofstra University and earn his J.D. as an attorney specializing in Art Law. In 2004, Manes wrote the winning thesis in the New York state bar associations EASL competition for his paper, The Law Regarding Fine Art Theft and Fraud: A Confusing Landscape.

He believes his sole purpose on this earth is to help those in need, while simultaneously making the world a better place to live for generations to come. Through Manes’ inspiring work ethic, he has become a valued individual. Dr. Manes enthusiasm for making a difference in society is clearly evident in all aspects of his life, but especially with his most recent foundation, the Manes Peace Prize organization. This charity awards money to individual(s) or an organization in the U.S. that is doing an unbounded job at establishing and promoting peace and good will for all of mankind. Whether it is between nations, races, religions, health education or welfare, any person or organization that is giving extra effort to these causes should be rewarded. His admiration for this foundation and what it is providing to America, shows in every aspect in his life.
