An accomplished educator, Hannah Nieskens has spent the past 13 years in instructional and leadership roles throughout the country. Currently serving the Wolf Point School District in Montana as the Principal at the Northside School for grades four to six, Nieskins acted as an Instructional Specialist for the district beginning in August 2009. Nieskens helped students improve their academic performances and reach state standards of proficiency in numerous subjects. She enabled her students to achieve through a variety of instructional techniques and strategies, particularly those that encouraged active engagement and learning. Hannah Nieskens also worked with other staff members to plan instructional goals and classroom methods, aiding teachers in using school-wide testing data to create their curricula.
Prior to her work with the Wolf Point School District, Hannah Nieskens served for three years as an Educational Computing Strategist with Nevada’s Clark County School District. In this role, she trained teachers in integrating technology into their classrooms and lessons. Hannah Nieskens also chaired schools’ technology committees, which included updating technology plans and managing their resources.
Hannah Nieskens brings in-classroom experience to her administrative roles. For two years, she taught computer literacy at schools throughout the Clark County School District, tailoring her instruction to suit the needs of every student in order to promote academic success. Hannah Nieskens wrote lesson plans that reflected both the requirements of the school district and the learning styles of her students, and she maintained active involvement in the school improvement process, collaborating with administration, parents, and community members to ensure student achievement. In addition to her time with the Clark County School District, Nieskens also taught grade school at Boulder Elementary School and served as an At-Risk Youth Educator with the Pretty Shield Foundation in Montana.
An honors graduate of Montana State University, Hannah Nieskens earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She funded her education through a Montana State University Presidential Scholarship. After completing her undergraduate studies, Hannah Nieskens entered Lesley University, where she obtained a Master of Education. She also holds a School Administration certificate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
