Gunnar Nielsen is a professional football player from Denmark born on October 7, 1986 in Faroe Islands. He was the goal keeper of the Faroe Islands Under-21 team.


Gunnar Nielsen began his football career in the Faroe Islands Premier League Football with HB Tórshavn, one of the island’s oldest football teams. In 2004, he shifted to the Danish sports club Boldklubben Frem as part of its semi-professional football team. After spending three years with it, he moved to the English Premier League Club in the summer of 2007 signing a two year deal with Blackburn Rovers. This contract with one of the top teams of the Premier League included an option of an additional year.


The next year, Gunnar Nielsen was loaned out to the Scottish Football Club Motherwell in August 2008 for six months to represent the team in the Scottish Premier League. Gunnar Nielsen is excited with this development since it offers him a great chance to develop. He is pleased that the manager and staff believe in him and does not want to let them down. He hopes to get into the team and aims to improve himself as a player and help the club as much as he can.
